The history is what made this visit so great! Walking through the ancient site and learning about the Minoan civilization really brought the experience to life. I highly recommend purchasing your tickets in advance, especially if you’re visiting while cruise ships are in port. We were able to skip the long ticket lines and get ahead of the crowds. The lines were VERY long once the cruise-ship passengers arrived. The audio guide was also a great addition—it gave much more context to what we were seeing and made the visit even more interesting. Tip: Buy your tickets ahead of time and beat the cruise-ship crowds!

Comodità di pagamento e semplicità di acquisto. Saltata la fola alle casse e quindi ingresso veloce. Problema: non sono riusad acquistare il biglietto gratuito per i minori quindi ho dovuto fare comunque la fila per prenderlo. Audioguida buona. Il capitolo 8 non era tradotto in italiano. Inoltre ci sono alcuni problemi a seguire il percorso. Una mappa sarebbe stata di aiuto cosi da guidarmi meglio

Nice audioguide and a lot of information. Detailed and interesting but I feel like orienting inside the palace was sometimes confusing. Maybe adding a map page with directions and information about going up or down stairs would make it so much better. But overall still a very good guide!

We selected the self guided tour, which was great since we only had an hour and a half with our taxi. Please note, that they will close the Palace of Knossos if it's too hot and you will not be notified until you arrive. You will have to wait a few hours sometimes before they open again. I recommend calling before you head over to confirm that they are open during summer months. There are also many tourist shops right across the street that you can visit if you don't mind waiting. We took a taxi for our 4 o'clock and when we arrived at 3:30 is when we were notified to come back at 5. Our taxi was great and took us over to the aquarium for an hour. Once we returned it was a little after 5 and the line was very long. However, since we purchased the e tickets online, we were able to skip the line and go right in, which was wonderful!
