V easy to book ahead and entry was easy. Staff so pleasant and helpful. Very steep climbs but for us no problem but we were given a map and phone number was on it for anyone who needed free transport to the top and from there all downhill. Plenty picnic areas and animals were amazing. Toilets were free and well signposted. Penguins were my favourite and staff were giving talks about them. Very informative. Highly recommend

Learning about the history of this beautiful place was amazing! We opted not to use the headphones, as we felt they were a bit cumbersome and left my spouse and I feeling disconnected from one another. We liked being able to chat about what we were seeing and reading about on the signs. The building and grounds were absolutely lovely inside and out!

Holyrood Palace was beautiful and full of history. The visit felt much longer than expected because there was so much to see and explore, but every room was fascinating and worth it. The Holywood palace visit was well organised and all the staff were very helpful. Such a beautiful place! The audio guide was excellent, informative and interesting. Magnified the history of the place for me. Would recommend people to visit. Photography is not allowed inside the palace but the guide is an reasonable price.

Easy to book, very useful to be able to reserve tickets and pay later, entry using Headout was simple making entry stress free. Edinburgh zoo was as fantastic as I remember from being a kid and it was brilliant seeing my daughter enjoy the zoo for the first time.

As the Palace of Holyroodhouse is a working royal palace, security and opening arrangements may be subject to change at short notice.

The palace is closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

The Palace of Holyroodhouse is open to the public on December 23. It is, however, closed on Christmas.

Edinburgh Zoo

Re-entry after entering isn’t permitted without park authority approval.

The park may close in extreme weather; tickets will be valid for a later visit.

Visitors wearing costumes might be asked to remove them for safety.
