This trip was very disappointing. We were only able to do one activity during the entire tour. There was almost no proper explanation from the staff, and we only received information when we asked ourselves. The system was very unclear. Also, entry was not done with a QR code as expected. Instead, we had to keep carrying a paper ticket to board the ferry the whole time. I honestly don’t understand why a QR code was provided if it couldn’t even be used.

The snorkeling tour was worth the money as it dropped you off and picked you up from the wrecks. Lots of fish to see but the currents can pick up so be cautious. Hotel and resort are in good condition and are a good place to rest. The only downside with this tour was we were on the 4pm ferry and we only fit in 2 activities from the pass, not 3.

The whole trip was a highlight, very friendly staff. When we arrived at the Island we where welcomed by a staff member. As it was our first time on the Island he explained how everything works wh as t to do and when to do it. We will definitely be back.

Moreton Island is a beautiful location for a family day out within easy reach of Brisbane. However our trip was advertised as including activities like mini golf even though there is no mini golf course at Tangalooma. Also we had standup paddleboarding included which the children aged 9 & 7 were not allowed to do. This was not made clear when we booked the adventure package. The snorkeling around the wrecks was very dangerous with a strong current and lots of motorboats in the area we were snorkeling in. We had a great day but feel we paid for lots of activities that we were unable to do.

Tangalooma is a resort where you can chill and relax have lunch and a drink at one of the beachfront cafes , go for a swim at the beautiful beach with the crystal clear water, or be flat out kayaking up to the wrecks and snorkeling around them or do many other tours that tangalooma offers, choice is yours. We only stayed for a day trip but plenty more to do if you wanted to stay over for a few days. Staff were all very friendly, great little getaway resort.

Choose between two exciting options—Adventure Day Pass or Adventure Activities Pass—for a day packed with activities both on land and in the water, all while enjoying full access to resort amenities.

Adventure Day Pass (if selected)

Enjoy unlimited access to land sports like tennis, volleyball, croquet, table tennis, basketball, badminton, mini golf, and cricket.

Includes watersports equipment hire with up to 3 hours of kayak and snorkel gear (with wetsuit) and 1 hour of stand-up paddleboarding.

Adventure Activities Pass (if selected)

Includes all land sports mentioned above.

What to bring

Bring along your swimsuit, towel, spare clothes, sunglasses, hat, and eco-friendly sunscreen for your adventure.

Pack your meds – better to be prepared, just in case they’re not available onsite.

Bring local currency or your preferred payment method for meals, souvenirs, and extra delights not covered by the ticket.

If you do have asthma, you are required to bring your Ventolin with you to be able to participate in the tour.

Safety is a priority, so this experience is restricted for children aged under 6 years.

Accessibility

This experience is not accessible by wheelchair and pram/strollers.

Moreton Island is a remote wilderness location, approximately 75 minutes from the mainland. For this reason, it is strongly advised that heavily pregnant guests reconsider their visit.

Participation in some of the tours and activities is physically demanding and may pose a health or safety risk. For your safety, you must disclose if you are suffering from any injury, or pre-existing medical condition (such as, but not limited to, epilepsy, asthma, or cardiovascular conditions) which may interfere with your ability to safely participate in the activities.

People with pregnancies need to provide a medical certificate from a doctor approving their participation in the tour activities.

Additional information

Children aged under 16 years must be accompanied by an adult at all times on the island.

A medical questionnaire must be completed and signed by all passengers. For children aged under 16 years, the questionnaire must be signed by a parent or a guardian.
