My guide, Andrea, was amazing. Her historical knowledge was exceptional. She did a great job explaining everything and going at a pace so everyone could follow along. I feel so well informed now. I highly recommend this tour, especially with Andrea. Thank you!

La sortie au coucher du soleil est une super expérience ! Avec une ambiance magique! La guide du 2eme jour maria était très intéressante et investie Le seul bémol l'attente apres le tour est bcp trop long. On a attendu jusqu'à 18h30 pour repartir alors que le tour se termine à 13h30. Surtout qu'il faut encore 4h de route pour rentrer à Athènes. Peut etre vouloir moins regrouper absolument par souci d'économies permettrait cela. Par ailleurs, un manque de communication flagrant quand on vient nous récupérer à 17h30 pour nous faire attendre à 10 min de où on etait pendant une heure sans aucune explications, qu'on nous dépose à l'hôtel sans plus de communication

Todo perfecto, lo único que el segundo día al tomar el tour panorámico quedamos libres a las 13hs aproximadamente. Esperar hasta las 17hs que te recogen para volver a Atenas se hace muy largo.

Right from the start the tour was grand. The attendants and drivers were courteous and respectful to everyone and extremely knowable about the areas we visited. The acomodations were marvelous and above my expectations and the area it was located in was great. I was set up in the Hotel Anoniadis which was located directly across the street from a Natural History and Mushroom museum. and was within easy waling distance of the main streeet in Meteora and lined with great restaurants and tavernas and general shopping stores. How much better could that have been. The guides were very helpful to me personally and assisted me in walking and climbing when I needed it without hesitation. That was a great comfort to me. I would highly recommend your tours for sure.

Nos encantó visitar Meteora con vuestra compañía. Todo estuvo perfectamente organizado desde el principio hasta el final. Los horarios se cumplieron exactamente como estaban previstos, lo que hizo que el viaje fuera muy cómodo y sin preocupaciones. La relación calidad-precio es excelente, especialmente teniendo en cuenta todo lo que incluye la excursión. The 2 day Meteora tour is fantastic. Ask for the guide Kosta! He's a history teacher and has grown up in Meteora. Not only does he know everything about the history of the rocks and the monestries, but he is also a great and easy understandable narrator. The 3 star hotel Alexiou is very good, especially the breakfastbuffet. I recommend on day 2 the walking tour, with the same guide Kosta. To experience the nature, both flora and fauna. We saw several turtles and butterflies in the wood. Both tours were very good!

What to bring

Smartphone and earphones: Required to use the multilingual audio guide inside the monasteries.

Comfortable clothing and footwear: Wear closed-toe shoes with good grip for uneven paths and stairs. Men must wear long trousers, while women should wear skirts below the knee and cover their shoulders to enter the monasteries.

Water and light snacks: Recommended, especially during the warmer months.

What's not allowed

Photography restrictions: Photography is not permitted inside chapels or of resident monks and nuns.

Drones: Flying drones is prohibited without prior authorization.

Accessibility

Not wheelchair accessible: Meteora's monasteries involve stairs and sloped paths. St. Stephen's Monastery offers the easiest access, with a paved pathway and fewer steps than the others.

Additional information

Facilities: Restrooms are available at larger monasteries such as Great Meteoron, Varlaam, and St. Stephen's, and may require a small tip for use.
