When in Hong Kong, do as the locals do. Skip the tourist crowd that throngs the tram to The Peak during the day, and hike through the forest at night instead! As the highest point on the island, Victoria Peak boasts spectacular views of the city, besides plenty of shopping and dining options. All you have to do is meet your guide at the Central MTR Station (Exit B) and follow them to the trailhead, on a gentle pace up the many well-trodden trails that lead up to the mountain. Every trail boasts of incredible angles and striking views of the Hong Kong glittering skyline. Your friendly guide will stop to point out the best views and share an anecdote or two. After about 1.5 hours of climbing, you will have reached the top. Use this opportunity to take photographs of the lovely cityscape from this vantage point. You can also check out the nearby shops and restaurants at the end of the tour.
