You can enjoy transfers from Sorrento/Naples on a deluxe air-conditioned bus. The first stop is at the archaeological site of Pompeii. Here you will visit some of the city’s most famous spots, along with a licensed guide. You can see the Civil Forum, which was the center of all trade and administrative activities in the city. Next up is the Temple of Jupiter, with Mt Vesuvius rising in the background. The Via dell’Abbondanza is the main street of ancient Pompeii, and runs east-west through the city. Once buzzing with shops, workshops and restaurants, it was one of the hotspots of the city. You will also get a chance to visit the Forum Baths, the house of the Meander, and the Large Theater of Pompeii.
After about 2.5 hours, you will be taken to the slopes of Mount Vesuvius. From here, you can enjoy a beautiful trek to the edge of the crater, at 1280 meters. Note that the surface is uneven, and that trekking shoes would be ideal. From the top, you can catch panoramic views of Pompeii and the Gulf of Naples.
You will return to Sorrento/Naples in the afternoon to complete the trek.
