From Sorrento: Pompeii Guided Tour with Optional Vesuvius Visit

Firstly excursion was advertised as minibus and implied would be small group. Did not sign up for 48 people. Recommended optional lunch was very poor. The time at Vesuvius was insufficient to reach the top making for a rushed and stressful day out.

The tour was great and really enjoyed visiting Pompeii. As the site is so large - having a map of the site prior to arrival ( perhaps passed out on the bus) would have helped. The tour route could also be marked out on such a map, We would have spent more of our time at the site and not outside over the lunch period - perhaps offer this as an option.

Booking through the website was easy. On the day, our guide from Iamme Ia (Louisa) was great and was very cheerful and gave us lots of local info on the way across to Pompeii. Our guide at Pompeii was very knowledgeable and we felt we got the best out of the tour there in the time we had. Pompeii was very busy and crowded despite an early tour.

The site was amazing! The staff was so friendly and helpful! I've taken several tours on my vacation to Italy, but I wasn't overly captured and pulled into the history of this amazing place as I have been with other tours such as of the Coliseum, Sistine Chapel, and other sites. The tour guide we had for Pompeii was knowledgeable, but quite repetitive with filling dead space with pointing out things that had already been noted and explained such as store fronts, frescos, and fountains, and such... instead of speaking more on the history of the time and framing out the history of events going on during that time. I still enjoyed myself as I didn't know much about Pompeii and Roman culture and would've been kind of lost wandering around by myself. If someone was just looking for general knowledge on this tour I would recommend, but if they're looking for a deep historical guide, I would advise them to look somewhere else.

The tour was well organised. The staff and guide were friendly and informative.

It was so easy straight forward because the instructions were very clear. The actual trip was excellent all round.

Overall brilliant trip! Would Highly recommend to anyone!
