To start with, your driver-guide will take you to Old Fort Niagara, a 1726 French-built fortress that is enlivened by spirited living history programs. Apart from striking views from its windblown ramparts, the fortress has displays of Native American artifacts, including weapons and furniture. This is the best way to experience what Niagara was once like, 200 years ago. While you're here, see the American side of the falls before heading over to Niagara State Park, America's oldest state park. With 400 acres of lush landscape, dotted with blossoming gardens and awe-inspiring scenery, the park is one of the most enchanting places imaginable.
