Once you are picked up from your hotel, your guide will lead you to the famous Maid of the Mist, America’s oldest tourist attraction. The iconic cruise departs from Niagara Falls, New York, and will take you up close to the American and Bridal Veil Falls, into the dense mist of the Horseshoe Falls (also known as the Canadian Falls). Before you board, take some time out to enjoy the view from the Prospect Point Observation Tower, located directly above the boarding site. Onboard, take in incredible views and experience the thunderous roars of the waterfalls. You may get a bit wet, depending on where you stand on the boat - but don’t worry, your guide will offer you a rain poncho for the ride!

The next stop on your tour is Goat Island, which connects to Terrapin Point and Luna Island. Learn about the history of the Falls here, see the Nikola Tesla monument overlooking the Falls, and get very close to the Bridal Veil Falls, located between Goat Island and Luna Island.

Continue onwards to the Cave of the Winds where you will descend 175ft. into the Niagara Gorge before heading out onto a series of walkways leading to the “hurricane deck” - only a few feet away from the Bridal Veil Falls. The conditions down here have been described as similar to a tropical storm, even on calm days! Your final stop is at Whirlpool State Park. Take the opportunity to snap some Insta-worthy photos of Niagara’s Whirlpool Rapids here. At the end of your tour, your guide will drop you off back at your hotel.

Important Information

The Maid of the Mist cruise is a seasonal attraction. When the boat cruise is not operating, it will be replaced by a visit to the Aquarium of Niagara

The exact duration of the tour may vary slightly based on traffic and seasonality (e.g. during off-peak times, tours tend to be a little shorter due to less traffic)

Once up close to the falls on the day cruise, you do get wet from the mist for a few minutes (if you stand at the front, especially). A poncho will be provided before boarding. Most travelers will still take their phones and cameras on board. You can also bring a change of shoes with you, if required

It is recommended that you carry along snacks with you or bring extra cash to purchase food at stops

Sanitizers will be provided and the vehicles are frequently cleaned and disinfected for your safety

Wearing a mask is mandatory. Carry your own or wear the one offered by your guide

Note that there are no car seats provided for children. By law, children less than 8 years of age can sit on an adult's lap and be buckled in during the tour. Should you wish to bring a car seat with you, let us know in advance so we can be prepared. Bear in mind that if you do choose to bring a car seat with you, it is your responsibility to install and uninstall the seat at each stop on the tour
