Guests whose drivers license was issued in France, Belgium, Switzerland, Taiwan, Germany, and Monaco have to procure a hard copy of their licenses translated into Japanese. The translated copies can be procured from the office of the Japanese Automobile Federation (JAF).

The 1968 Vienna Convention, IDA, IAA or any other permits acquired online are not recognized by Japan.

Driving permits from Indonesia, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Mexico, Brazil, Costa Rica, Colombia, Kuwait, and Qatar are not allowed to drive in Japan. Guests are requested to check if their country issues the 1949 Geneva Convention Permits before booking tickets.
