Did you know?

The Blue House was built in 1904 by Frida’s father, Guillermo Kahlo, and became the home where Frida was born and died.

After Frida’s death in 1954, Diego Rivera donated the house and its contents to the Mexican people, turning it into a museum in 1958.

Frida’s iconic Tehuana dresses, medical corsets, and even her prosthetic leg are displayed as part of the permanent exhibition.

The museum’s collection includes original paintings by both Frida Kahlo and Diego Rivera, but only a handful of Frida’s paintings remain here due to international demand and loans.

Why visit Frida Kahlo Museum?

Walk through Frida Kahlo’s real home

Step inside the legendary Blue House, where Frida Kahlo was born, lived, and created her most iconic works. Each room remains preserved as she left it, filled with art, books, and relics from her extraordinary life.

See original artworks and personal artifacts

The museum displays a rotating selection of Frida’s paintings, sketches, and vibrant self-portraits, along with Diego Rivera’s art, pre-Hispanic sculptures, and Frida’s famous Tehuana dresses.

Explore the lush gardens and courtyards

Relax in the tranquil courtyards and cactus gardens that inspired Frida’s art. The open-air spaces are filled with Mexican folk art, mosaics, and personal touches by Frida and Diego.

Experience Mexico’s artistic and cultural legacy

La Casa Azul is a living time capsule of 20th-century Mexican culture, celebrating Frida’s embrace of indigenous heritage, revolutionary politics, and creative spirit.

We had such a great time on this full day tour, but the absolute highlight for us was the boat ride in Xochimilco. Floating along the canals on a colorful trajinera with music and such a fun atmosphere was unforgettable! The visit to the Frida Kahlo Museum was iconic too, and the stroll through Coyoacán was great as well and overall beautifully organized. Our guide Lily was exceptional, she was so passionate, knowledgeable, and very engaging. Honestly she really made the whole day special. Highly recommend!

My visit to La Casa Azul, the iconic home of Frida Kahlo, was made unforgettable by our guide. From the very start, he was the model of professionalism—incredibly punctual and thoroughly organized, ensuring our experience was seamless from beginning to end. But what truly set him apart was his demeanor. He was a very nice guy, whose passion for Frida's art, life, and the history of the house was both genuine and infectious. He presented the information in a way that was engaging and easy to follow, striking the perfect balance between depth and accessibility. A special note on his reliability: he was wonderfully. Every detail was considered, and he created a trusting and comfortable atmosphere for our group. He clearly respects his guests' time and the significance of the place.
