Everything was of a high quality. One thing can be better: tell the wheelchairs- people that you're site is perfect. But.....the way to the funicolar for a wheelchair is dramatic. Without taxi or other transport it is a hel of a job to get there. Please inform this part better to Bergen guests!!!

Smoothest furnicular we have ridden, the views from the top of Bergen spectacular. The goats were an added bonus, a real treat. This is the best opportunity to see all of Bergen at a great price.

Super easy to book ticket and just as easy to use, board and head up and back from Floyen mountain. Heated seats were a welcome surprise after the wet and windy spectacular view from the top!

The funicular was great and the view from the mountain is amazing but the organisation of the queues going up the street in two directions was chaotic

On the day of your visit, head to the Floibanen station in Bergen, step into the funicular car, and begin your ride up toward the top of Mount Floyen.

Your ticket provides access to Floibanen funicular service so you can travel between Bergen and Mount Floyen from the base station up to the summit.

See Bergen fall away beneath you as the funicular rises toward Mount Floyen, with open views of the city and slopes all the way to the upper platform.

Choose a 1-day Floibanen pass with unlimited rides for the flexibility to travel up and down as many times as you like and visit Mount Floyen more than once. If you prefer a short visit, choose round-trip Floibanen tickets, with individual fares or a family option for 2 adults and 2 children aged 4 to 15.

I felt duped. I didn't realize that Headout would charge $10 service fee when I could get tickets at the furnicular without the added charge. I also needed to wait about 30 mins for the tickets to be processed - all while waiting for their at the ticket counter.

What to expect

Floibanen funicular

Floibanen is the funicular railway that connects central Bergen with higher ground, giving you an easy way to experience the city's elevation changes.

Features

Access to the Floibanen funicular is included with every ticket option, so you can use the funicular service without needing to buy separate tickets on site.

With the 1-day pass, you receive unlimited funicular rides for 1 day, allowing you to go up and down Floibanen as many times as you like within the same day.

If you select the round-trip family tickets, you get round-trip tickets for 2 adults and 2 children aged 4–15, so one booking covers the whole family's funicular travel for the ascent and descent.

The round-trip individual tickets provide round-trip tickets for adults and children, giving each traveler their own ticket for the complete journey up and back.

What's not allowed

Drone use at Floyfjellet is prohibited without permission from Floibanen AS.

Bicycles cannot be taken to Floyen from October 1 to March 31.

Accessibility

All Floibanen stations are wheelchair and stroller accessible.

Additional information

Floibanen runs every 15 minutes, with extra departures during peak periods.

The cable car runs 7:30am–12am weekdays and 8am–12am weekends and holidays.

Christmas-season operating hours may vary from the regular schedule.

Children under 4 ride free with a paying adult; children aged between 4–15 years need a child ticket.

The journey from the lower station to Floyen takes approximately 4–8 minutes.

Dogs ride free, but must remain leashed on Floyfjellet hiking trails year-round.
