Check in for your Standard Watchmaking Workshop Admission and settle into the studio workspace. An instructor introduces the Build Your Own Custom Watch Workshop format and outlines the tools you will use. You then move to your station so you can begin learning how mechanical watches work before starting on your own timepiece.

Build Your Own Custom Watch Workshop

This activity-focused session is built around designing and assembling a custom mechanical watch from individual components. You work at your own station while learning about the history of timekeeping and the inner workings of a mechanical movement.

• Begin by exploring how timekeeping evolved and learn about the history of timekeeping and how mechanical watches work, then examine the legendary Seiko NH35 movement that will power your watch.
• Select each component of your watch as you go, choosing from over 100,000 combinations of cases, dials, hands, and straps so your custom mechanical watch reflects your style.
• Use professional watchmaking tools for use in the studio while you assemble your self-built personalized watch, with hands-on guidance provided at each step.
• Enjoy light refreshments during the workshop and pause for a photoshoot of your watch creations, with a Google Drive link to workshop photos shared afterward.
• Finish the session with a fully assembled custom mechanical watch to take home along with care instructions for your custom watch so you know how to look after it over time.
• At the end of the workshop, you have the option to add custom laser engraving for an additional 20 euros if you bring a .png or vector image of the logo or artwork you want engraved.

Wrapping up

Once your self-built personalized watch is complete and photos are taken, you receive your Google Drive link to workshop photos and leave with your custom mechanical watch and its care instructions, while custom laser engraving remains an optional paid extra.
