Kirstenbosch just blew me away. I went solo, mainly to kill a few hours, but ended up wandering for ages. The treetop walkway (they call it Boomslang, lol) = super fun, you gotta do it, even if a tad wobbly. Saw so many birds I lost count, and the staff near the sculpture garden answered my (many) questions with a smile. Wear comfy shoes, the trails are longer than they look! Cafe was a bit pricey but my latte was HOT and strong. I’ll be back for sure.

Came with my partner expecting a quick stroll, ended up spending almost 4 hours here. The mountain views are EPIC, especially if you catch late afternoon sun. The map was a little confusing and we got turned around (found the Dell by accident, which was cool). Would be five stars, but the main restrooms were closed for cleaning and we had to wait. Still, loved the vibe.

If ur into plants or just wanna chill somewhere beautiful, this place is cooool. Mom kept stopping for flower pics, I mostly liked the dinosaur statues in the Cycad Amphitheatre. Super green and peaceful, not as crowded as I thought for a Saturday. Bring sunscreen tho, barely any shade in some spots.

I came prepared for rain, but got lucky with blue skies! Kirstenbosch is massive, the air smells soooo fresh. We bought some local honey at the shop (tastes wild, in a good way). Some paths were muddy, but staff put up signs. Only bummer: the info boards could use an update, some faded print. But overall very relaxing.

What to bring

Sun protection: Apply sun lotion or cream and carry it with you for outdoor stops.

Footwear: Wear comfortable walking shoes, as the experience includes walking at various sites.
