Leider fuhren die Hop on Hop off Busse nur im Stundentakt, so dass an den einzelnen Haltepunkte lange Wartezeiten entstanden. Vor allem zu Beginn hat dies zu Problemen geführt, weil wir an unserem Stratpunkt 45 Minuten gewartet haben und keine Bus kam. Erst als wir zum Startpunkt der Tour gegangen sind, bekamen wir die Auskunft, wann der nächste Bus fährt, was wieder 45 Minuten Wartezeit zur Folge hatte. So macht Hop on Hop off wenig Spaß!

it is a tiny little town, albeit SO WORTH VISITING! we went during october and the buses only run 1 1/2 hours apart. since we only did a day trip from bilbao, it worked for us to see as much but we were able to squeeze in a stop for the funicular because we started our tour on its first trip. with us still having ample time for lunch and our ride back to bilbao. during the busy months, the buses run every 30 minutes, so be aware of the bus schedule. the tour was informative and casual. if you're in and out of donostia, this will really be enough to give you a comprehensive layout and history of the city. enjoy!
