Exploring Istanbul made easier with public transport

Your physical card covers unlimited rides on Istanbul’s metro, trams, buses, Metrobuses, and ferries. These services connect major visitor areas, including Sultanahmet, Taksim, Karaköy, Kadıköy, and the Bosphorus waterfront. Minibuses are not included and require cash payment. The card is for one traveller only, so each person aged 6 and above needs their own card. It is delivered to your Istanbul hotel, so you have your transport ready before starting your sightseeing.

Seamless activation

• Provide your Istanbul hotel details at least 2 days before arrival to arrange delivery of your physical public transport card.

• Collect the card from your hotel and keep it with you throughout your stay. This is a physical card, not a digital ticket.

• Activate your card by tapping it at a designated Biletmatik kiosk machine. Alternatively, activate the card by holding it against a turnstile or bus reader for 5 to 7 seconds

• Once the card is activated, it is ready to use immediately. Do not use the same card again at the same stop within a short time frame. Multiple scans can block the card for 30 minutes.

• Tap your card on the appropriate reader when entering or boarding eligible metro, tram, bus, Metrobus, or ferry services.

• No top-up is required, as the card covers unlimited eligible rides for the selected validity period.

• Validity: Your pass is valid for 1/3/5/7 consecutive days, as per the option you choose.
