Present your ticket and make your way to your reserved Adventure Class seating. Once settled in the non-smoking cars, your luggage is handled using the baggage service available at Denali and Fairbanks stations.

This route links Denali and Fairbanks, with services operating on summer mornings and boarding also possible at Anchorage, Wasilla, Talkeetna, Denali, or Fairbanks on applicable itineraries. Travel through Alaska with clear-day views from your seat and the flexibility to choose a one-way journey or a same-day, 1-night, or 2-night round-trip itinerary between Denali and Fairbanks, depending on the option you select at booking.

Scenic highlights include long stretches of Alaskan landscape viewed from your train window, with the most expansive vistas on clear days along the Denali–Fairbanks corridor. Non-smoking cars help keep interiors clear, so you can focus on the panorama outside.

Your ticket includes a train journey between Denali and Fairbanks, with a one-way train journey or a same-day, 1-night, or 2-night round-trip train itinerary between Denali and Fairbanks provided as per the option you select.

Seating is reserved in Adventure Class, so you know your class of service before departure and can travel in a space that suits your preferences.

You have dining car access during the journey, allowing you to visit the dining area for meals or beverages that you choose to purchase.

Baggage service at Denali and Fairbanks is included, giving you the option to check bags at these stations, while baggage service at Wasilla is not available.

Cars are equipped with wheelchair access so guests with mobility needs can board and move within designated areas more easily.

While your rail ticket covers transportation and onboard access, accommodations, activities at destinations, and meals and beverages are excluded and can be planned separately if you are on a multi-day itinerary.

What’s not allowed

Smoking: Smoking is not permitted in any of the train cars.

Baggage at Wasilla: You cannot use checked baggage service at Wasilla station.

Seasonality: Trains on this route operate on a seasonal summer schedule with morning departures.

Boarding stations: You can board at Anchorage, Wasilla, Talkeetna, Denali, or Fairbanks as per your ticket.

Baggage service: Checked baggage is only available at Anchorage, Talkeetna, Denali, and Fairbanks stations.

Multi-day trips: Multi-day itineraries and overnight stops can be arranged with help from Alaska Railroad reservation staff.

Overnights and activities: Overnight stays and activities at each destination are not included and must be planned separately.

Schedule: The train operates May 13 to September 17, 2026, with northbound departures from Denali at 4pm arriving in Fairbanks at 8pm, and southbound departures from Fairbanks at 8:20am arriving in Denali at 12:10pm.
