Accessibility

• Step-free route: Expect two short flights of steps with handrails after stop 6 and just before stop 10.
• Road crossing: After stop 10, you will cross a busy road at traffic lights when leaving the park.

• Guiding style: There is no live guide, so you set your own pace and pauses.
• Start time: There is no fixed start time, so you can begin whenever you arrive.
• Park hours: The park opens at 7am and closes at dusk in winter, so plan to exit before closing.
• Best time to visit: Weekday mornings are quietest, while Cascada square is busiest on weekend afternoons.
• Hivernacle hours: The Hivernacle greenhouse is open daily from 10am to 8pm and is free to enter.
• Cascada at night: The Cascada is illuminated after dark, creating a different atmosphere.
• Boat rentals: Rowing boats run 1 Apr to 30 Sep, 10am to 8pm, and 1 Oct to 31 Mar, 10am to 6pm.
• Toilets: Public toilets are available inside the kiosk bar on Cascada square.
• Maintenance: The Cascada is drained for cleaning twice a year for about ten days.
• Renovation notice: The park is under renovation in 2026, so expect fences, scaffolding, and diversions.
• Wildlife etiquette: Do not feed the parakeets or pay for photos with them.
• Access limits: The Parliament grounds, Zoo, governor's palace, and chapel are not open to walk into on this route.
