The entry was smooth and easy and the staff were polite and helpful. The display was beautifully exhibited and so gorgeous to look at. The history and geography explained about the gem stones was informative and interesting. I loved the whole exhibition.

The exhibition was extremely well done. The pace to progress through the various rooms and exhibitions was relaxed and not rushed. Personally, I really enjoyed the video of movies with Cartier jewels. Unfortunately our start to the exhibition was disappointing. We had booked tickets online, about 30 minutes prior to arriving at the gallery only to be informed that tickets would not be available for 2 hours. Upon presenting our ticket reference code as tickets had not come through to be told we must have tickets to enter. This was news to front of staff and I must say Charolette was great is assisting with what next steps we could try. Hence a phone call to request escalation for tickets and to be informed could take 2 hours. As you could imaging this was very disappointing and not an ideal start to what we had anticipated as a enjoyable day out for my wife and I. Tickets did come through after further escalation in about 20 minutes. I believe there is a process issue involved and places unduly stress in front line staff and consumers with consumer expectations not being met in this digital age. The reality was we could have walked straight up to the ticket desk at the gallery without delay. Thank you for the opportunity to provide this feedback. Regards Paul

We thought this was a fantastic exhibition. The total number of exhibits was astonishing, dispalying the incredible artistry, skill and knowledge of the Cartier house. I loved the reference to their prime sources, including reference and note books. The video displays were informativeand the catalogues and invitations were a charming historical reference. The whole exhibition, which is huge, was beautifully dispalyed .I warmly recommend this exhibition to everyone. we cannot all wear a tiara to do the dishes, but we can all imagine ourselves in high society. The jewels were of course the star of the show. Bravo

The Cartier exhibition in Melbourne is outstanding! BRAVO to the 3 Cartiers brothers for their achievements. They travelled the world, and became totally dedicated to their jewellery business. The NGV has to be congratulated for their choice in bringing the most beautiful jewels to Melbourne. You will discover glittering diamonds, rare precious stones, unique tiaras and watches, miniature statues and so much more... Don't miss the opportunity to go.... you won't regret it! The exhibition was astonishing. The Cartier jewels are mini works of art with such a rich cultural history. The music was perfect, allowing the viewer to fully appreciate the exhibition without distraction. The layout was great except for the first room which was too restrictive in how people could move about. Everyone ended up in a line which was silly. In the other rooms you were much more able to move about freely. Maybe some timed groups would have been better at the start.

We had no queue at the entry even though it was a busy day, which was great when visiting with a toddler & a groom 6 adults. Two from interstate to see the show. The exhibition was well presented with far more rooms of gorgeous exhibits than we expected. The stories of provenance provided most interesting insights. I think the video display of the Maharaja of Petiala wearing the jewels as displayed was a highlight for me. For others in my party it was definitely the tiara room.
