The tour guide Andrea had a good range of knowledge and brought a bit of humour into her tour experience. She also timed it well so we had plenty of time to take photos. It was well paced.

Altijd goed om met een gids de plekken te verkennen. De beloning van de toren zelf was feitelijk na de wandeling, en dat was prima. Goede gids en prima start.

really recomended.. you can just turn up and buy ticketa on day but this way we did minimal queueing and had an excellent guide. surepisingly the very best bit is actually the baptistery.. amazing acoustics and really interesting. wait for the hallf hourly singing demonstration! cathederal really good tower is obviously most famous.. walking up is about 250 steps a lot of which are really smooth and worn.. quite a nice view at the top

What to expect

Step into the UNESCO-listed Piazza dei Miracoli, home to Pisa’s most celebrated architectural treasures. Your guide shares the stories and significance behind each monument, offering context that brings centuries of history to life.

Pisa Cathedral: Explore the Romanesque cathedral as your guide highlights its marble work, golden mosaics, and central role in Pisa’s religious and civic life.

Leaning Tower of Pisa: Learn the story behind the leaning bell tower, its engineering challenges, and significance from your expert, then climb independently for panoramic city views.

Upgrades: Enjoy a guided visit to St. John’s Baptistery to experience its famed acoustics and learn about its circular design and architectural style. Continue through the Camposanto’s cloisters, discovering frescoes and ancient sarcophagi with historical insights provided during the tour. Conclude your tour at the Opera del Duomo Museum and the Sinopie Museum, exploring original artworks and sketches.

What's not allowed

In order to preserve the tower, metal objects, bags, or containers are not allowed in.

Accessibility

The climb involves 273 steep steps with no elevators, so it is not accessible for wheelchair users and guests with cardiovascular issues.

For safety reasons, children under 8 cannot access the tower, and those aged 8-18 must be accompanied by an adult.

Additional information

You’ll have 30 minutes total in the Tower, including your climb, time at the top, and descent.

Your guide will share all insights before the Tower climb (not during), then join you inside the Cathedral for a fully guided experience.

As the Cathedral is a place of worship, remember to wear clothing that covers your shoulders and knees.
