This train, which departs from the center of the village of Zermatt and takes you 1,500 meters higher as it climbs incredible inclines through magnificent scenery, is a marvel. The greatest reward awaits at the top, in a cirque of glaciers and peaks over 4,000 meters high, including the famous Matterhorn—the most impressive mountain in the Alps. It’s truly spectacular!

Very nice to visit the, mountain you can see every thing Very well this way. The train ride was also very nice, and comfortable. Zermatt is a nice place to be. We willen be back to visit this place. My stay at Gornergrat made a huge impression on me. The views were incredible—the panorama of the Alps, including the majestic Matterhorn, was breathtaking. The mountain air made it possible to truly relax and enjoy nature, and yes, I found an ibex! I had the pleasure of trying Valais Platter and a glass of local wine. It was such a perfect combination—alpine views, meat, and wine—that I cried. For moments like these, I'll be back again and again.

I especially appreciated that once I was at the top I could stay for as many hours as I wished, only limited by the time of the last ride down. This gave me time to fully enjoy being at the top, to sketch and photograph the beautiful, dramatic mountain view's, and also see the "Zoom in" movie.

The shuttle and stations offer partial wheelchair accessibility, while the Gornergrat summit and cogwheel train are fully wheelchair accessible.

No shuttle ticket is needed with the General Abonnement or Swiss Travel Pass.

Half-Fare Card holders and children aged 6 to 15 enjoy a 50% discount on the shuttle.

Children under 6 and Junior Card holders travel free without a ticket.

Small dogs (up to 30 cm) travel free in a pet container; larger dogs require a half-price ticket.

Shuttle passes are valid for 30 days but must align with your Matterhorn cable car trip date.
