We had a wonderful excursion up the mount Gornergrat toward Matterhorn. The weather that day was perfect. The scenery breathing. The cogwheel trains were smooth and efficient. Best recommendation is to get there early during tourist season because it gets crowded.... But the Swiss seem to handle crowds well. Great experience highly recommend it

We booked a tour because we were afraid that it would be difficult to navigate on our own. The tour was cancelled, so we bought the cable car tickets online. How fortunate for us that the tour was cancelled! The cable car was so easy to use, and we saved a lot of money by booking ourselves. We were able to spend the day at our leisure, and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. I would highly recommend booking this on your trip to Zermatt.

I've also never been in a gondola during a thunderstorm while it was stopped. But the breathtaking panorama, with so many 4,000-meter peaks and several glaciers, is truly impressive. It's definitely worth it.

Just a brief moment of panic because we couldn't get in with our digital tickets. We had to first go to the kiosk at the station, which then printed out our paper tickets so we could enter. Go early morning for clear views. Get off at stop before the top and hike to lake. Then jump back on for top. Very beautiful and train comfortable.
