The Oceanografic in Valencia is a large aquarium that rivals—and likely surpasses—major aquariums such as those in Genoa and Monte Carlo. It’s divided into sections based on different environments (tropical, polar, coral reef, open ocean); the underwater tunnel is particularly impressive, where you can walk alongside sharks, stingrays, sawfish, and more... The only downside is that unfortunately, the section dedicated to the Red Sea is only open for brief periods (very early in the morning, very late at night, or around lunchtime—it’s very difficult to catch the right time), and for the rest, they offer a 3D show for an additional fee (but you don’t need to come all the way to Valencia to watch fish at the movies).

Arriving at the City of Arts and Sciences is like stepping onto another planet; the majestic modern buildings are breathtaking. It’s convenient to get there by bus, and entry is a breeze if you book your ticket in advance on the website. Then the adventure begins as you follow the various trails through the different areas. I was enchanted by the belugas, penguins, and dolphins. The ticket price is steep, but considering the park’s maintenance and the care given to the animals, it’s definitely worth it. It takes 4 to 5 hours to see everything. It’s definitely worth visiting at least once in your life.

What a fantastic experience! The Oceanogràfic in Valencia is a truly spectacular place—much larger than I expected. It was wonderful to see so many marine species and walk among the enormous tanks, especially the underwater tunnel—a truly breathtaking experience. 🐠🦈 The facility is immaculately maintained and the atmosphere is wonderful. I highly recommend a visit, especially if you’re visiting Valencia for the first time. I really loved it and would gladly go back! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Our whole family visited L'Oceanogràfic in Valencia and we were absolutely thrilled. The sheer size of the complex is impressive—you can spend an entire day there and not even notice how quickly the time has flown by. What impressed us the most were the huge glass tunnels with sharks swimming right overhead, and the incredible Arctic beluga whales—they’re very curious and seem to interact with visitors. The grounds are well-maintained and clean, with plenty of shaded areas to relax. I recommend buying a combo ticket with the Science Museum to save money. A must-visit in Valencia!

We had an absolutely wonderful time at the Oceanogràfic in Valencia with our children! 🐠💙 It was such a special experience for the whole family. I loved that the tour covered all of the touristy areas in a few hours and that you can hop on and hop off when you want to. I felt like it was a little bit pricey (that may just be because I ended up paying for 7 people) but it was just perfect for us since we had visitors only coming for one day and they wanted to see what Valencia had to offer.     We had an amazing day at Oceanogràfic! Everything was clean, well organized and full of incredible marine life. The huge variety of species, open spaces and respect for the animals really impressed us. The penguins completely stole our hearts – we didn’t want to leave!     The park is beautiful; the diversity and number of species are impressive. The only downside: we bought our tickets online, and they were for a specific time slot at 3:00 p.m., even though we would have preferred to arrive earlier. We arrived early and wanted to eat inside, but we were denied entry because it was too early—even though other people were buying tickets on-site and going right in. We asked the ticket office to exchange our tickets so we could get in earlier, but they refused. After a 15-minute discussion and thanks to our cancellation option, the employee agreed to let us in... None of this is specified on the website... In short, this was not very customer-friendly, especially toward foreign tourists traveling with children in the middle of a heat wave! The employees aren’t sufficiently informed about current procedures! The employees rely too heavily on supervisors for even the smallest questions (for example: the employees are unable to open a closed umbrella in the waiting area in front of the entrance; they’re also unable to provide information about the parking payment stations...).

The exhibits are very impressive and allow you to see many marine species up close, including sharks, penguins, jellyfish, belugas, and dolphins. (Visit Valencia) The tour is well-organized, and the famous underwater tunnel is truly thrilling. The architecture of the facility is also beautiful and makes the visit even more special. It takes several hours to explore it at a leisurely pace, but time flies because there’s always something new to see. A truly unforgettable experience, perfect for both adults and children. A must-see if you’re in Valencia!
