Very intense, informative and deeply moving tour to Auschwitz-Birkenau, with transfer from Kraków. I was lucky enough to be staying close to the Kraków main station pickup point, which made the 6 AM pickup time more tolerable. The time I had originally booked was moved to an earlier slot, as the tour company needs to sync with the accredited guides at the camp - understandable, but a possible change of schedule will probably come as a surprise to some. The pickup situation was a bit chaotic as several companies start their tours at the same time, and not always using clearly marked vehicles. Our group was picked up in a regular minivan, whereas others used full sized tour buses. The entry situation at Auschwitz 1 was also a bit chaotic, but there seems to be some method to the general madness, and we were ushered inside fairly smoothly with the fast track entry. Our camp guide, Mariusz (?), was quite amazing with great English proficiency and endless facts being delivered for the duration of the tour, which is about the length of a full working day including the transfer. It was a scorching hot day, so if you are elderly or disabled, please be prepared for a challenging time with plenty of walking (around 10 km for me), information to take in via headset, and of course psychological strain from the accounts of all the horrors that took place in these rooms and spaces not too long ago. I booked the tour on a whim the night before, as I realized how close Auschwitz actually is to Kraków. It was a bit pricier than I had budgeted for, but in the end I feel it was well worth it. I was moved to tears on several occasions, and it's so important to keep history alive by taking in the extent of human evil with your own eyes. Everyone who has the opportunity to go should do so.

My visit to Auschwitz was a very powerful and emotional experience that is difficult to describe in words. From the moment I entered the camp, I could feel the sadness and seriousness of the place. Seeing the buildings, photographs, personal belongings, and other objects made me understand much better the suffering that millions of people went through during the Holocaust. The guide played a very important role in making the visit meaningful. He presented everything in a clear, organized, and respectful way. He explained the historical context, the daily lives of the prisoners, the terrible conditions they had to endure, and how the camp operated. What I appreciated most was that he did not only present dates and statistics, but also shared real examples and stories, which made the information easier to understand and much more powerful. The guide was also very knowledgeable and answered questions clearly. His presentation kept the group interested throughout the entire visit and helped us understand the importance of remembering what happened there. Overall, visiting Auschwitz was emotionally difficult, but it was also an extremely important and educational experience. The excellent guide made the visit even more memorable and meaningful.

I visited Auschwitz-Birkenau, near Krakow, and I can say that everything was organized flawlessly from start to finish. The meeting point in Krakow was easy to find, and pickup by minibus happened exactly on time, with no delays. Our guide, Polina, was extraordinary. She was kind, highly professional, and extremely knowledgeable historically, managing to convey the information in a clear and respectful way, fitting for the gravity of the place. We were given all the time we needed to go through both Auschwitz I and Birkenau, without ever feeling rushed. The logistics were just as good — transportation, the audio headsets for hearing the guide, the travel time between the two sections, everything ran smoothly. We returned to Krakow exactly on schedule. I confidently recommend this experience to anyone who wants to visit this place of immense historical and emotional significance, in a well-organized setting with an outstanding guide.

A tour operated by Cracovia Visit, with the final departure time confirmed the day before. The tour leader from escursionicracovia.it, Salvatore, was exceptionally kind, always paying attention to everyone and organizing the experience in an exemplary manner. Many people complain about schedule changes and, at times, pick-up times that are much earlier than what was chosen during the booking process. It’s important to remember that the Auschwitz complex confirms guide slots the day before, and, paradoxically, it’s actually better to be picked up very early in the morning and being among the first to enter—rather than having a leisurely breakfast and perhaps spending hours going through security checks... I was lucky enough to enter at 7:30 a.m. after being picked up at 5:40 a.m., and entering among the first groups in the camps allows you to tour everything in the silence that a memorial like this deserves.

I loved the guided tour of Auschwitz-Birkenau. The guide was excellent: approachable, clear, and very respectful of the historical weight of the place. He explained everything in detail, from the arrival of the trains to the different areas of the camp, and you could tell he had a great command of the subject. Although it was a very cold day, the experience was totally worth it. I recommend bringing a heavy coat or a warm jacket, gloves, and comfortable shoes, because there is a lot of walking and the wind is noticeable. The fast-track entry tickets saved us time, and the transfer was punctual and comfortable. I was especially struck by the sheer scale of Birkenau and the personal stories the guide shared. A must-see visit, well-organized and deeply moving. I left with the feeling of having learned and having honored the memory of the victims. Totally recommended.

The organization was perfect! They moved our tour up by about an hour and a half, but we knew that could happen. Otherwise, the bus transfers and the tour itself were exceptionally well organized. In August, there are so many people, so the tour moves along a bit quickly. But our guide, Margherita—who spoke perfect Italian—led us with great professionalism, expertise, and deep respect. Needless to say, the tour was truly moving—we were moved to tears several times. Seeing those places in person—the children’s hair and shoes—stirs something deep inside you; it’s impossible to explain. We were so eager to take this tour that we recommend it to everyone! In fact, it should be mandatory for all schools.
