Your tour will begin with a splash in Lake Okareka, taking in the beauty of the lakeside community. You will ride to Lake Tikitapu in New Zealand’s only genuine World War II landing cart while viewing the spectacular colors of your natural surroundings.

    You will pass through the sacred Laka Tamareka and the Buried Village of Te Wairoa. Finally, you will witness the grandeur of the legendary Mount Tarawera, a volcanic mountain that erupted in 1886. This unique eco-tour coupled with the storytelling by your tour guide is sure to give you plenty of Kodak moments.

  • Important Information

    • Please dress to suit outside weather conditions. While heaters, blankets, and roll-down sides are provided on the tour, it's better to wear warm and waterproof clothes on cooler days.

    • Food (except for hot food) is allowed onboard.

    • This experience is suitable for wheelchair users.

    • Bathroom breaks are included but the duration of these stops is at the driver's discretion. You'll spend roughly 15mins at each lake, and this may be a little longer if the tour is running on time.
