Château d'Azay-le-Rideau is a 16th-century Renaissance château in the Loire Valley, set on an island in the Indre River and open to visitors with furnished interiors and landscaped grounds. Built largely between ~1518 and 1527 under Gilles Berthelot, it is known for the west façade’s reflection in the moat, the grand central staircase, and rooms shaped by 19th-century de Biencourt restoration.
