Main Entrance (Via del Proconsolo)
The primary entrance is located at Via del Proconsolo 4, just south of Piazza della Signoria and a short walk from Florence’s Duomo. Look for the grand arched doorway set into the medieval stone façade. The entrance is at street level, but please note that while there is an elevator to upper floors, some areas are only accessible by stairs. Visitors with mobility needs are encouraged to inquire at the ticket desk for assistance and elevator access.
Regular Hours: Open daily from 8:15am to 1:50pm. Last admission is at 1:00pm.
Closed: The museum is closed on the 2nd and 4th Sunday of each month, and on the 1st, 3rd, and 5th Monday of each month. Additional closures include January 1, May 1, and December 25.
Special Hours: On the first Sunday of each month, entry is free for all visitors, but expect larger crowds and possible wait times. Please check the official website for any updates regarding special events or temporary closures.
Audio guides are available for rent at the entrance for an additional fee.
A small souvenir shop is located near the exit, offering books, postcards, and museum-themed gifts.
Toilets are available on the ground floor for visitor use.
