Our tour guide, Lilly, was very informative and knowledgeable and so passionate about the Mexican culture. There was so much to see, but we ran out of energy.... Would love to go back someday and see the rest. The only criticism we have would have been better directions to get from our Uber drop off to the entrance meeting place. Knowing that there is a bridge connecting the parking lot would have been helpful.

Jenniifer offered us a small group tour of this absolute workd class museum. The collection goes beyond words, and Jennifr told us many stories behind the pieces on view. One has to see this museum on a guided tour. It is not enough to view this collection on your own. she was incredible, as was the museum!

Our guide Cinthya from Chilñ'N Go Yours was great, very fun and knowledgeable and had great stories to bring history and relevance alive. It is important to note that there is a security line up BEFORE you meet her, THEN you skip the line with her and view the museum.

    What to expect

This is Mexico’s most important cultural institution. The museum houses over 20 permanent exhibit halls filled with artifacts from pre-Hispanic civilizations. You'll see massive Olmec heads, Mayan tombs, Mixtec codices, and iconic displays like the Stone of the Sun. The open-air courtyards and architectural design reflect Indigenous worldviews and are an experience in themselves.

Go beyond self-guided discovery with a 5-hour expert-led tour of both the Museum of Anthropology and Chapultepec Castle. Available in English or Spanish, this immersive experience includes entry tickets to both landmarks and begins at the museum’s main entrance at 8:50am. Perfect if you want historical context and seamless access to two of Mexico City’s cultural icons.

    Features

    • Stone of the Sun: One of the most famous Aztec artifacts ever unearthed.

    • Mayan and Toltec rooms: Replicas of tombs, temples, and sacred artifacts.

    • Bilingual signage: Most major exhibits offer English translations.

    • Self-paced experience: Stay as long as you want and explore at your own rhythm.
