Pro tips to help you make a pick

The standard Farm Experience bundles one Farm Show and one Farm Tour. Official prices are NZ$65 for adults 16+, NZ$33 for children 3–15, and free for infants 0–2.

If you’re visiting as a group, compare the NZ$154 family ticket against individual tickets. It covers either 2 adults + up to 3 children or 1 adult + 3 children.

If you also want the National Kiwi Hatchery Tour, the Farm + Kiwi combo gives 10% off and is designed to fit into about 4 hours, including transfer between sites.

Plan around the fixed Farm Show times—roughly 9:30am, 11:00am and 2:30pm. The full Agrodome visit is designed to take about 2.5 hours, so avoid treating it as a quick stop.

Arrive a few minutes early if you want front-row seats at the show. All standard tickets include the 60-minute Farm Show, and popular slots can feel busier with coach groups.

Bring the credit card used for purchase. Agrodome’s official entry instructions say guests must present that card at check-in.

Compare direct booking with OTA listings such as Viator, Klook or GetYourGuide if you care about cancellation terms or promos. The research notes the base price difference is usually minimal.

The Farm Experience is a live hosted show plus a guided tractor tour; no audio guide is listed in the official inclusions. If you add the Kiwi Hatchery, note that it is 5+ only and photography is prohibited.

About Agrodome

Agrodome combines a staged farm show with a working-farm tractor tour, rather than offering a simple petting zoo or walk-through paddock. In one visit, guests can watch sheep-shearing and cow-milking, see 19 sheep breeds, feed animals across 350 acres, and stop at a kiwifruit orchard for seasonal honey or juice tastings. That mix creates a half-day introduction to farm life.

Did you know?

The tractor tour does more than animal stops: it also passes through a working kiwifruit orchard, where visitors may taste fresh honey and kiwifruit juice in season.

Dog fans can collect trading cards for Agrodome’s 14 farm dogs after meeting them post-show, a detail noted on the official site.

From August 2025, the Agrodome Fun Pass gives NZ residents 12 months of Farm Show entry after one full-price ticket purchase, plus guest discounts.

The National Kiwi Hatchery Tour operates on Agrodome grounds but is a separate 60-minute guided experience with a 5+ age rule and no photography.

On wet days, Agrodome has hose stations at the end of the farm tour so visitors can clean muddy shoes before leaving.

Why visit Agrodome?

60-Minute Farm Show with 19 Sheep Breeds

Agrodome’s main show introduces 19 breeds of sheep in a 60-minute performance that also includes live sheep-shearing, cow-milking and a mock sheep auction. It runs three times daily at roughly 9:30am, 11:00am and 2:30pm, so visitors can build the rest of the farm visit around a fixed show slot.

350-Acre Tractor Tour and Orchard Tastings

The covered tractor-trailer tour circles Agrodome’s 350-acre working farm, stopping at grazing paddocks and a kiwifruit orchard. Along the route, guests can hand-feed Romney sheep, cattle, deer, llamas, ostriches, pigs and alpacas, then sample fresh honey and kiwifruit juice in season.

Hands-On Time in the Baby Animal Nursery

Next to the show stage, the Farmyard Nursery gives visitors a close look at recently born lambs, kids, calves and chicks. Children can cuddle and feed baby animals at hand-feeding stations, and spring from October to December brings the most new arrivals.

Live Dog Trials with 14 Farm Dogs

Agrodome’s Border Collies and Kelpie-mix dogs appear in the Farm Show and in a dedicated Live Dog Trial outside, herding sheep and even ducks on command. Visitors can meet the dogs after the show, and Agrodome offers trading cards for each of the 14 dogs on duty.

Shaun the Sheep AR Trail and Playground

The “Fun with the Flock” trail turns the playground area into a smartphone scavenger hunt using the Agrodome app or AR trail map. Families look for Shaun and friends on signs around the site, adding an indoor-outdoor activity that works well as a mid-visit break or on light-rain days.
