The geyser was great and I was able to get pictures and video. For the best places to sit, you should get there early. We went on the 45 minute walk because I have a knee injury. There are a 60 and 90 minute walk also. It was great but it probably took us longer because of taking pictures and I have to be careful with my knee. I loved all the thermal activity and the craters were interesting. This was my first experience of this sort, and I am very glad we went.

A really great experience the Lady Knox geyser was fun and the singing excellent. The best part was admiring the wonders of nature in the volcanic thermal park I would highly recommend a visit.

Enjoyed viewing the students working during time time we toured (most were not in the craving area) and our tour guide. Plus getting to see kiwis was wonderful!

Bring a pair of comfortable shoes, an umbrella, water bottle, sunscreen, hat, and preferred mode of cashless payment for your visit.

Bring your camera, sunscreen, rain poncho, hat, sunglasses, and ID.

Drones and smoking are not allowed inside the park.

Do not touch thermal water, steam vents, or leave marked paths.

This experience is accessible by wheelchair and stroller/pram.

This experience is not suitable for guests with limited mobility or back/neck injuries.

Facilities: Parking, toilets near the visitor centre, gift shop, cafe.

The opening hours at Wai-o-Tapu are from 8:30am - 4:30pm, with the last entry at 3pm.

Children must be supervised by a parent or guardian at all times.

This is an active geothermal area, meaning the ground and water often reach boiling temperatures. Do not wander outside of designated areas

Wai-O-Tapu is a cashless on site, all major credit cards and EFTPOS are accepted.
