What to expect

Tango Porteño recreates the golden age of Argentine tango, transporting you back to 1940s Buenos Aires when tango was at the heart of the city's cultural life. The 90-minute production traces tango's evolution from its Río de la Plata origins to its contemporary form through expressive choreography, live music, and theatrical storytelling. More than 25 artists take the stage alongside a live orchestra and acclaimed vocalists, while elaborate costumes and grand scenography bring each performance to life. If you've selected a dinner package, your evening begins with a gourmet menu inspired by classic Buenos Aires cuisine before the show starts, creating a complete cultural and culinary experience.

The venue

Located just steps from the Obelisk on Avenida 9 de Julio, Tango Porteño occupies a beautifully restored Art Deco theater that recreates the elegance of Buenos Aires during tango's golden decade. The venue combines historic architecture with modern production technology, creating an immersive setting where live music, refined interiors, and period-inspired décor transport guests to one of the city's most celebrated eras. Its central location and atmospheric design make it one of Buenos Aires' most distinguished venues for experiencing traditional Argentine tango.
