I visited the Empire State Building on July 3, and the experience was unforgettable. The Art Deco design is stunning up close, and the exhibits—especially the King Kong gallery and construction history—made the visit feel richer and more immersive. Booking tickets through Headout was fast and very simple. We bought out tickets at the last minute as we stood outside of the building and we're able to bypass the lines at the kiosks inside. Summit One was a fun and thrilling experience, especially the elevator ride. It was so smooth we couldn't believe we went up >90 floors that quickly. The whole experience was so well run and each room/floor had a different experience that kept you guessing what was next. I would definitely recommend going to Summit One if you want something that is unique and interactive for the whole family with amazing views. I would also recommend Headout for a stress free ticket buying website to speed up the entry process.

Took my son on a trip. We love the Empire State Buiding. Very easy to get tickets and went right up. Didn't get photos when we went up.

It is definitely an interesting thing to do and a lot of fun. But it's also very commercial and very about trying to sell you photo packages and souvenirs. The elevator lineup is very cool, and once you get to the top, it is absolutely amazing. The floor and mirrors will blow your mind, the view is spectacular. We went on a day where there was a lot of Hays in the air from the smoke from Canada so we could not see as much as we would've liked to, but the views are amazing. It was fairly crowded, but very manageable. We walked around what did the other floors, played with the balloons. All in all to me it's like going to the edge, but it's indoors, plus you get a 360° view. The reason I rated four stars is, I think it's very expensive for what you get, and it's way too commercial with the photos and all the gift shops that you walk-through. But when it's a hot day and you don't wanna walk around outside, it's a very cool thing to do.

The Summit One Vanderbilt was a great experience. We were able to start waiting in line 30 minutes before our time slot and the process to get inside was very straight forward. I went around 10pm and the view at night eas amazing. I'd highly recommend booking this, especially in the evening!

What to bring

Bring sunglasses if you are visiting during the day, as the reflective surfaces create an extremely bright environment.

What’s not allowed

Large bags, backpacks, and luggage cannot be brought inside, and there are no storage facilities available on site.

Professional photography equipment is not permitted; only personal handheld devices may be used for photos.

Additional information

All bags and containers are subject to security screening upon entry.

Guests under 16 must be accompanied by an adult at all times.

Wear appropriate clothing to avoid unwanted reflections on mirrored and glass floors. Pants, shorts, tights, and flat shoes are recommended.

Choose comfortable footwear and avoid stilettos, steel-toe boots, sports cleats, or any shoes that could damage the floors.

Weapons of any type, including firearms and explosives, are strictly prohibited.

Glass containers, bottles, and marbles are not allowed anywhere on the premises.

Large bags, luggage, and oversized items cannot be brought inside.

Outside food is not permitted, and eating is not allowed in the Observatory or on the outdoor deck.

Tripods, professional camera equipment, and large gear are prohibited.

Pets are not allowed; only trained service animals may enter.

Accessibility

The Empire State Building is fully ADA accessible, with ramps, lowered viewing areas, and accessible binoculars.

Wheelchair-accessible restrooms are available on the 86th floor.

Service dogs are welcome throughout the attraction.
