Getting started

Check in for your excursion and complete the required participant release of liability and assumption of risk agreement before starting your tour. Meet your expert guide for a brief introduction, then put on a sanitized helmet or use your own. Once you're settled into your custom-built, two-person electric Railbike, set off along the historic Noyo River corridor.

Noyo River Railbike route

Follow the Noyo River for 12.5 miles through the Redwoods before turning around for the return journey. The 25-mile round trip combines electric-assisted riding, historic railroad scenery, and exclusive access to a quieter stretch of forest.

Time by the river: Swim in the Noyo River if you choose, or relax beside the water and take in the forest surroundings.

Return journey: After your break, board your Railbike again and follow the same historic route back toward your starting point.

After your hour at Camp Noyo, ride your electric Railbike back along the Noyo River, crossing the trestle bridges and passing the forest landmarks in reverse.

What to bring

Water: Bring your own drinking water, as it is not provided on this experience.

Backpack: Bring a small backpack to carry your personal items comfortably.

Bug spray: Bring your own bug spray to stay comfortable in the redwood forest.

Swimming suit: Bring a swimming suit if you plan to swim in the Noyo River at Camp Noyo.

Clothing: Wear casual sports attire, and dress in layers during winter months for warmth.

Footwear: Wear closed-toe shoes, as they are required for all riders.

Helmet: Bring your own helmet if you prefer, or use the sanitized helmet provided.

What’s not allowed

Dogs: Dogs are not allowed on this railbike trip at this time.

Additional information

Liability form: All passengers must complete a Railbike release of liability and risk agreement before receiving boarding passes.

Physical ability: Riders must be capable of bicycling recumbently for hours at low exertion.

Mobility: All passengers must be able to walk steep and rugged terrain during the experience.

Age requirements: Single riders must be at least 16 years old, and all passengers should be at least 6 years old.

Weight limit: The maximum weight is 250 pounds per rider on the railbikes.

Dress for weather: Trains and railbikes run rain or shine, so you should always dress appropriately.

Winter conditions: During winter, this trip can be quite chilly, so you should dress in warm layers.

Clothing guidance: Casual sports attire is suggested for comfort throughout the excursion.
