An Absolutely Spectacular Experience! The Official Chicago Architecture River Cruise by First Lady was absolutely spectacular! From start to finish, it was a wonderful experience. Our guide was exceptionally knowledgeable and brought Chicago’s incredible architecture and history to life with fascinating, detailed explanations and interesting stories. The commentary was so engaging that it kept everyone’s attention throughout the entire cruise. I learnt so much and gained a whole new appreciation for Chicago’s remarkable architecture and skyline. Everything was just perfect — the guide, the information, the experience and the beautiful views from the river. This was undoubtedly one of the highlights of my visit to Chicago, and I would highly recommend it to anyone visiting the city. An absolute must-do experience in Chicago!

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A Must-Do Experience in Chicago! Taking a river cruise aboard Chicago’s First Lady was one of the highlights of our visit! The views of the city were absolutely breathtaking, and seeing Chicago’s incredible architecture from the water gave us a whole new appreciation for this beautiful city. The cruise was relaxing, enjoyable, and a wonderful way to experience Chicago from a different perspective. Cruising along the river surrounded by the stunning skyline was truly memorable. Whether you’re visiting Chicago for the first time or have been here before, I highly recommend adding this experience to your itinerary. It’s a beautiful way to see the city and create lasting memories. Definitely worth it!

Our cruise was amazing. We went on with our 8 month old Grandson, the crew were super helpful with his pushchair. Then the cruise and the lady who talked us through the Chicago Architacture & the history behind it was amazing. She kept us engaged, and the inforrmation she reeled offf was so interesting. We had a fantastic time and would highly recommend this tour. My brother and wife did the evening tour and said it was stunning with the city's lights!

The boat tour was a great way to see the Chicago River Walk, the many restaurants, and of course the buildings. Our tour docent was engaging, funny, and well informed. I learned alot about the various buidlings: why they were built where they were, what the architect was trying for, and what the symbolism was intended to be. The seats allowed good viewing for everyone and if you were thirsty or hungry, there was a cafe. Highly recommend.

Fantastic boat tour and one of the highlights of our time in Chicago. Our guide Cathy was brilliant, really knowledgeable, engaging and easy to listen to throughout. She gave us loads of interesting information about the city without it ever feeling too heavy, and made the whole tour genuinely enjoyable from start to finish. A great way to see Chicago from the water and something I’d definitely recommend to anyone visiting the city.

How organized and welcoming the crew was and especially enjoyed the outstanding narrative by Dr. Steve - it was better than a Broadway Show and learned so much about Chicago that I have since shared. The 5pm cruise in October was the perfect time of day. Our guide was exceptionally knowledgeable of the city's history and its development and a joy to listen to.

What to bring

A hat, sunglasses, or visor to shield you from the sun as you cruise.

Your booking confirmation, either on your phone or printed, for a smooth check-in.

A government-issued photo ID if staff request to verify your reservation.

What’s not allowed

Large suitcases or oversized bags; you’ll need to travel light.

Open strollers during boarding; please fold strollers and store them, and carry children aboard.

Outside food or beverages. Snacks and drinks are available to purchase on board.

Pets (service animals are welcome).

Any form of smoking, including e-cigarettes.

Accessibility

The cruise offers limited mobility services, including early boarding and river-level drop-off for guests with accessibility needs. However, full wheelchair accessibility may not be available on all vessels. Please contact the staff in advance for assistance.

Plan to arrive at least 30 minutes before departure; general boarding starts 15 minutes prior.

Cruises run rain or shine; tickets cannot be refunded for no-shows.
