We thoroughly enjoyed the all inclusive pass and visiting the cathedral. Expect people to cut in line and be pushy in the cathedral, so spending the extra money allows you access to less crowded parts of the cathedral complex. Upon arrival in the Cathedral, get in line for the Library, so you can enjoy the architecture while you are in line.

This renowned complex is a centerpiece of Tuscan Gothic architecture, housing centuries of religious, artistic, and cultural treasures. Your pass covers all major sites within the complex, allowing for a flexible visit over three consecutive days.

Duomo & Piccolomini Library: Admire the cathedral’s Gothic architecture and intricate mosaic marble floor, and explore the vibrant frescoes of the Piccolomini Library.

Crypt, Baptistery & Museo dell’Opera: Discover the Crypt’s hidden 13th-century frescoes, the Renaissance Baptismal Font in the Baptistery, and key artworks in the Museo dell’Opera.

Facciatone & Oratory of San Bernardino: Climb the Facciatone viewpoint for sweeping views of Siena and the Tuscan countryside, and visit the Oratory (April–October) for historic Sienese paintings.

What to bring

What’s not allowed

Large bags, suitcases, or oversized luggage are not permitted inside the complex for security reasons.

Pets are not allowed, except for registered service animals.

Eating, drinking, and smoking are strictly prohibited within the premises.

Flash photography, tripods, and professional filming equipment are not allowed inside the exhibition spaces.

Accessibility

The Siena Cathedral complex is not fully wheelchair accessible. Some areas, such as the Facciatone viewpoint and certain historic sections, may not be suitable for visitors with limited mobility.

Additional information

Visitors are required to wear modest clothing covering shoulders and knees to enter the cathedral and chapels.

Tickets are valid for three consecutive days from the date of purchase.

The last entry to Siena Cathedral is 30 minutes before closing.

Opening times may change due to liturgical activities. Please check the timings page for daily schedule.

Access to the Oratory of San Bernardino is available only from April to October.

The cathedral’s marble floor is viewable only during certain periods of the year.
