The Siena Cathedral, located in Siena, Tuscany, is a magnificent Duomo that showcases some of the most important aspects of the European artistic and architectural gamut. It has grown over the years in popularity, now drawing more than a million visitors each year. The beauty of the cathedral is made all the more prominent by artworks from Michelangelo, Donatello, Nicola Pisano, and Bernini. If you so wish, you can opt for access to the entire Duomo complex and make the most of your visit.
Head over to the Piccolomini Library, frescoed by Pinturicchio as you admire the cathedral's marble-inlay floor. Next, visit the Baptistry of San Giovanni, where the splendid Baptismal Font will catch your eye; it is, after all, one of the greatest monuments of Renaissance sculpture! Wind further down to explore the eerie Crypt, where a grandiose cycle of frescoes dating back to the 13th century will make your acquaintance.
