I have lived in San Diego since 1981 and I've always wanted to do this tour. I had some friends come into town so we decided we would give it a whirl. Our captain and our host. Michael and Amy, were fantastic. Michael drove us safe and secure, and Amy was very knowledgeable about information in regard to San Diego and the sites we were seeing. They both had great humor as well. I would highly recommend anyone take this tour.

It is a one of a kind experience for our grandchildren.......riding on the city streets and then floating along in San Diego Bay. The narrator and Captain were very professional and noticeably followed safety rules. Seeing and smelling the seals and sea lions was a big hit for the kids.

The captain and first mate were friendly and helpful. They were wonderful to all the children on board and really made everyone feel welcome and important. They happily pointed out the wildlife and explained all of the different animals. Overall, it was a wonderful time and I would happily do it again.

First we were in wrong location they helped us get to the right location. Trolly ride alittle mendwindy to water. Boat ride was enjoyable. Very knowledgeable about area and ride was slow and easy. Would highly recommend it too all.

Captain Michael and first mate Dillinger were very nice and knowledgeable about the tour. They enjoy doing their job and it shows. San Diego Bay is beautiful and the seals, birds and other marine life were very fascinating.

Arrive at your chosen meeting point: Seaport Village or the Embarcadero. Present your voucher for check-in before boarding the Hydra-Terra amphibious vehicle. The crew offers a brief introduction and safety notes before departure.

Travel on a Coast Guard-approved Hydra-Terra as you roll through San Diego’s streets, then enter the bay with a signature splashdown. Hear local insights as you pass landmarks and watch for sea lions, seals, and coastal birds.

Accessibility

Departures from the Embarcadero location are not wheelchair accessible.

Wheelchair-accessible departures are available from the Seaport Village location.

Boarding the amphibious vehicle requires stepping up and down.

What’s not allowed

Luggage or large bags are not permitted on the tour.

Outside food and beverages are not allowed unless specified by operator policies.

Additional information

The tour operates daily except on Thanksgiving and Christmas, with departure times varying by season.
