A complete experience today at the Liver Building - relevant history imparted to us, along with fascinating facts and a measure of good humour. Inside the clock tower, we unexpectedly winessed a stunning multi-walled video about the importance of the building through time, displayed with remarkable artwork (flying Liver birds!). Despite the challenge of the 150 steps (plenty of opportunities to rest for a few moments), the rewards on coming out into the fresh air atop this stunning building were awesome. Great tour and very interesting. Got to see the city in a whole new light. I thought it was the right length of time too although I would have liked to see the boardroom. Whilst the video was visually excellent, tourists may have benefited from a bit of narrative.

A really great and interesting tour. The guides wete excellent and was so interesting to visit such an iconic building .Thetr a lot of steps to climb but was mafe eady by taking it in stages. The video presentation in the click gallery eas sensational Certainly one not to be missed

There are a lot of steps but they are split up into 3 sections and are all with hacnhrails. The views are amazing and the video in the clock room is great. The guide was very informative and easy to hear. All in all a great trip

What a fantastic place to visit. The staff were extremely polite and knowledgeable about the Liver building history. The 360 views from the clock tower were stunning. I would recommend this historical tour to everyone.

Arrive at the main entrance to validate your ticket, then head into the Visitors Centre. Spend time with the exhibits and archives, where stories about the building and its Liver Birds set the scene before you continue your self guided tour.

What to expect

Liverpool’s skyline feels incomplete without the Royal Liver Building. This early 20th century landmark has watched the city grow from a maritime powerhouse into the modern waterfront you see today, with every space inside revealing another layer of its story.

15th floor viewing platform: Head up to the 15th floor for wide 360° views across Liverpool’s skyline, waterfront, and landmarks. It is one of the best places to understand how the city fits together.

What’s not allowed

Large luggage bags, suitcases, food & beverages, smoking, alcohol, umbrella, and sharp metallic tools or objects are not allowed on this experience.

Due to venue restrictions, pets cannot tag along for this experience.

Flash photography is strictly prohibited at the venue.

This experience is not wheelchair and pram/strollers accessible.

Your guide dogs are welcome at the venue.

This experience is not recommended for people with photo-sensitive epilepsy.

The tour involves 124 stairs above the 10th floor; visitors must be able to complete the full route.
