Palazzo Madama
The municipal museum of ancient art in the city of Turin, Palazzo Madama houses over 70,000 iconic pieces from the 13 to 18 centuries. Palazzo Madama e Casaforte Degli Acaja was the first Senate of the Kingdom of Italy and later was designated as a UNESCO World Heritage site.
The Art gallery here houses the collections of Museo Civico d’Arte Antica. Spread throughout the 4 floors, each level has a different era covered in time. The medieval stonework collection, or Lapidario Medievale, with its stone sculptures and jewelry, is located in the basement, next to the Roman foundations. The Medieval Garden, a tranquil sanctuary of nature in the middle of Turin, is accessible from there; the bottom level is primarily devoted to the castle from the fourteenth century and to Medieval and Renaissance art. The art of the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries may be found in the baroque rooms on the first floor. The decorative arts of all eras, including pottery, ivories, jewelry, textiles, glasswork, and much more, may be found on the second level. The Museum was founded by the City of Turin in 1861 to collect and preserve Piedmont's cultural legacy.
Royal Palace of Turin
The historical Savoy House palace in Turin, Northern Italy, is known as the Royal Palace of Turin or Palazzo Reale di Torino. With plans created by the Baroque architect Filippo Juvarra, it was initially constructed in the 16th century and then modified by Christine Marie of France. Palazzo Chiablese and the Chapel of the Holy Shroud, the latter of which was constructed to store the renowned Shroud of Turin, are both included in the palace. The structure was acquired by the state in 1946, at which point it was converted into a museum. It was added to the UNESCO World Heritage Site list in 1997.
Behold the opulent old Savoy family home and take a stroll through the lives and works of the royal house, which will wow you with amazing collections of priceless tapestries, painstakingly designed furniture, a rich art collection, an armory, and gardens.
Start your thrilling journey now to uncover Turin as it truly is—a fusion of nature and culture, productivity, art, magic, religion, tradition, and modernity.
