The benches aboard a 20-minute river cruise offer a perfect respite from walking around Dotonbori’s bustling streets so you can relax while still enjoying the sights. A lively guide will share stories about the area’s nine bridges, like the historic Nipponbashi Bridge, once a bustling center for traders during the Edo period. As you drift along the Tombori River, you'll pass some of Dotonbori's famous landmarks, like the giant mechanical crab outside Kani Doraku, an iconic spot for food lovers.
Dotonbori is well-known for its bright neon lights and quirky signs, including the huge pufferfish lantern at Zuboraya, the cheerful mechanical clown at Kuidaore Taro, the massive dragon coiled outside Kinryu Ramen, and the oversized octopus sign at Takoyaki stalls. The district is also packed with vibrant street food stalls, making it a bustling hotspot for local and international visitors.
