The story
Set in early 20th-century Nagasaki, Madama Butterfly follows Cio-Cio-San, a young Japanese woman who enters a fragile marriage with U.S. naval officer Pinkerton. Believing deeply in love and reinvention, she builds a future around his promised return, even as family, tradition, and shifting loyalties close in. Themes of devotion, cultural divide, and hope drive the drama forward. As ships gather in the harbour once more, her faith faces a shattering test, and everything hangs on what she chooses next.

Group确认预订2026年4月5/5Madame Butterfly was such a beautiful presentation and the three of us thoroughly enjoyed it. Having toured the Sydney Opera House that day and seeing a performance in the evening was such an amazing experience. Our seats were great, accoustics terrific, singing and orchestra perfect. From purchase of tickets to end of performance, everything went smoothly and people working there were kind and helpful.AAzizi A
Solo确认预订2026年4月5/5Excellent performance of a classic opera staged in an iconic venue. Perfomed in Italian but with subtitles which made the experience more meaningful. All the performers were excellent especially Madame Butterfly. Thouroughly enjoyed the performance over the two and the half hours. Highly recommended for opera lovers.MMaren U
