We had a really great day at the NEMO science museum, very educational and interactive, fun for all ages! The only room for improvement I would say was that there was quite a lot of 'hogging' and nobody around ensuring that everybody could have a go on all activities. In particular, the water dam experiment where you need to get the water wheels moving, was very busy, and although there are 4 'stations', people were taking the rubber blocks from other stations leaving them with too few to succeed. Would 100% recommend to anyone visiting Amsterdam though.

When we visited NEMO my none-technical wife thought it would be a trial. But we were there five full hours and we both loved it. We have heard criticism that it is targeted at children and some science is incorrect. Well the science seemed good to me and the simple clear illustrations were very helpful and some of the evolution schematics and evidence were fascinating to me as an engineering post-doc and both of us as Christians. And - there is nothing reprehensible in explanations being aimed at children. It is good to see them being engaged and excited. Well done.

The canal tour and National Maritime Museum package was a great deal! We started with the friendly Capatain of the Lover's Canal Boat tour and got some great information. Then there was a short walk to the Maritime Museum where the two highlights were the courtyard's glass ceiling and open concept and the exhibitions; the Amsterdam, a recreation of a Dutch East India Company ship was a real highlight!

The NEMO Museum is a fun and educational museum for children. Besides them, it's also a great way for adults to brush up on their knowledge. It is designed so that every floor has something new to do and learn. The museum covers everything from STEM fields to human biology. Highly recommended for visiting with children!
