Was expecting a typical tourist trap but this tour blew me away. Our guide, Kelvin, literally had eagle eyes—spotted a massive rhino before anyone else even saw the dust cloud. We were in a group of four friends and the vibe was chilled. The van had these pop-up roofs, so you could stand and snap pics (but watch your hat, mine nearly flew off lol). The highlight for me was feeding the giraffes—they slobber a bit, fair warning. The bead workshop was unexpectedly fun, too. Got to chat with the women who make the jewelry and they sang for us, which felt suuuper special. Lunch was ok, nothing wild, but the gift shop had some funky giraffe mugs I couldn’t resist. Only downside: elephant orphanage was a bit crowded and I felt rushed at times, but still SO worth it. Would totally do again if in Nairobi.

Took my parents on this tour for their anniversary and it delivered big time. The park was lush after the rains and we saw hippos chilling in the mud, plus a cheeky warthog that kept photobombing. Guide (Elijah) knew everyone at each stop and got us right to the front at the elephant feeding. My dad got a bit sunburnt, so bring a hat and sunscreen. The bead making demo was surprisingly hands-on—they even let us try rolling a bead! Giraffes were def the stars for my mom. Just go, you’ll love it.

Honestly, I wasn’t expecting to see so many animals right outside a MAJOR city. Nairobi park is wild! Saw lions, rhinos, even a baby giraffe. The elephant orphanage is heart-melting—those lil guys are so playful. Our driver, Henry, was super knowledgeable, answered all my random questions about birds (I’m a bird nerd). Giraffe center had a bit of a line but worth the wait. Loved the bead factory, too. If you like animals and crafts, don’t skip this.

This was my first safari EVER and wow, what a way to start! Went with my girlfriend and we’re both still buzzing. The guide got us super close to some lions and even pointed out a shy hyena. The elephant sanctuary is adorable but gets packed fast, so stay close to your guide or you’ll lose your spot. We bought matching beaded bracelets at the workshop (cute, right?). Pro tip: charge your phone, you’ll want a million photos.

Everything was so well organized! I traveled solo and felt totally safe the whole time. Our guide (Harrison) knew so much about the animals and the history of the park. Got to see a mama rhino and her calf, which was my dream. The giraffe center was a little chaotic but feeding them was unforgettable. The bead factory tour ended with the staff singing for us—gave me chills! Would 100% do again.

Your day begins with hotel pickup in Nairobi, where you meet your professional driver and guide and board your selected private or shared safari vehicle, either an open-top tour van or 4x4 jeep. Travel directly toward Nairobi National Park with your passport or ID ready for park entry. Once your Nairobi National Park entry ticket is arranged, you continue into the park for the first game drive.

Nairobi National Park

Nairobi National Park sits just outside the city and is the first main stop on your full-day safari. You spend the morning on an extensive game drive inside the park.

During the extensive game drive, you travel through open savannah and bush areas as your guide helps you look for wildlife that lives inside Nairobi National Park.

Access to the park is included with your Nairobi National Park entry ticket, which your professional driver and guide handle so you can focus on the game viewing.

Depending on your booking, you explore the park in a private 4x4 jeep safari vehicle, a private open-top safari tour van, a shared 4x4 jeep safari vehicle, or a shared open-top safari tour van, each with open viewing for photography.

Elephant orphanage

What to expect

After leaving the park, you continue by vehicle to the elephant orphanage, a conservation center where young elephants are cared for. You spend time observing them during a scheduled visit.

At the elephant orphanage, you watch the young elephants in their secure viewing area as staff demonstrate feeding and care routines for the rescued animals.

Entry to this stop is covered by your elephant orphanage entry fee, already included in your experience, so you do not need to purchase a separate ticket on site.

Your professional driver and guide manage timing and transport between Nairobi National Park and the elephant orphanage, keeping the day on schedule.

Giraffe center

What to expect

The final main stop is the giraffe center, which focuses on conservation and education. You spend your visit viewing giraffes from designated platforms and walkways.

Features

At the giraffe center, you see giraffes at close range from raised viewpoints designed for observation and photos in a controlled setting.

Your giraffe center entry fee is included, giving you access to the center’s viewing areas without additional payment at the entrance.

After your time at the giraffe center, your driver and guide return you by vehicle to your Nairobi hotel, completing the hotel pickup and drop-off service included in your safari.

ID requirement: Bring a valid passport or national ID card for park and attraction entry.

Clothing: Wear comfortable shoes and clothes suitable for a full-day safari.

Airport hotels: There is no free pickup or drop-off from the airport or hotels located inside the airport.

Excluded hotels: Pickup is not offered from Argyle Grand, Hilton Garden Inn, or 67 Airport Hotel.

Mlolongo & Syokimau: Pickup is not available from any hotel located in Mlolongo or Syokimau.

Ongata Rongai: Pickup is not available from any lodge or hotel located in Ongata Rongai.

Farther hotels: Pickup is not available from any hotel located past Safari Park Hotel.
