Absolutely loved visiting Mammoth Cave! It was such a unique experience and honestly so interesting seeing everything inside the cave. The walk through was beautiful, and learning about the history and how the cave was formed made it even more enjoyable. Definitely worth visiting if you’re down south — I’d highly recommend it!

Was very nostalgic for me and watching how much my child loved it made my heart sing. I didn't use the headphones as I felt it took away from my own experience, but it didn't diminish it because my 7 year old listened and relayed very enthusiastically the details of the recordings. We can't wait to explore the others

The Mammoth Cave experience was a wonderful start to our day as a surprise for my wife and son's mother-in-law (who suffers from claustrophobia but had no problem enjoying the tour so much). The 'self guided' tour allowed our group to take our own time and enjoy all that was on offer including the great gift shop.

Super easy to collect the audio guide. Absolutely stunning in the cave, just wow. We carried out our 18 month old very easily. Can't recommend enough if you are visiting the area.

My family loved being able to listen to the audio and take our time looking through the cave. My the children (6 and 4 yrs) had a wonderful time and learnt so much about the cave systems.

What to expect

What to bring

Capes Raptor Centre

Wear comfortable walking shoes suitable for unsealed gravel paths.

You may bring your own food, but please avoid glass products, alcohol, straws, and barbecues.

Bring weather-appropriate clothing, as the experience operates rain or shine.

Still and video cameras for personal use are welcome (flash and external lighting are not permitted).

Bring comfortable walking shoes suitable for boardwalks and gentle slopes.

Carry a valid photo ID if requested at the entrance.

Consider bringing a light jacket, as cave interiors can be cool.

Capes Raptor Centre

Flash photography and external lighting are not permitted for the wellbeing of the birds.

The main 1km bush walk is an unsealed gravel path, best suited for all-terrain prams and wheelchairs.

A shorter, stroller-friendly route is available for families with young children or those needing easier access.

Accessible parking spaces are available on site.

Mammoth Cave

The cave is accessible via gently sloping boardwalks, making it suitable for families, seniors, and visitors with limited mobility.

Additional information

Capes Raptor Centre

Please arrive on time; the Birds of Prey Encounter show starts promptly.

Allow at least 90 minutes for your visit to enjoy both the encounter and the forest walk.

The centre is open rain or shine unless severe weather poses a risk; Bird of Prey Encounters may be adjusted or cancelled in heavy rain or wind. Check the centre’s website or social media for updates.

Complimentary parking is available, including coach and accessible spaces.

Drinks and ice cream are available for purchase; picnic areas and a gift shop are on site.

Your visit supports the rescue, rehabilitation, and conservation of birds of prey in Western Australia.

Mammoth Cave

This is a self-guided audio tour; allow approximately 1 hour for your visit.

Audio guides are available in English, French, German, Malay, and Mandarin.

The experience concludes with a walk through the Marri and Karri forests.

Transport to and from the cave is not included in your ticket.

Children must be supervised at all times during the visit.

The cave features prehistoric fossils and unique limestone formations—please do not touch or disturb any natural features.
