Set during the 1930s, the cold-hearted Ebenezer Scrooge is the owner of a mining company town in the Smoky Mountains of East Tennessee. Blinded by callous greed, Scrooge fails to see the sheer joy and gifts of the Christmas season. That is, until a Christmas Eve snowstorm brings the ghostly apparitions of his deceased business partner and the Christmas Ghosts. Together, they open Scrooge’s eyes to the fact that love and family are our most precious gifts.
The well-loved classic tale comes with the magical touch of Dolly Parton, complete with an original soundtrack from the Queen of Country herself. The beautiful reimagining of this timeless tale is adapted by David H. Bell, Paul T. Couch and Curt Wollan, and will spread Christmas cheer at the Queen Elizabeth Hall for a limited season.
