This is the second time I've been to Hobbiton . First in May was with my brother, sister and brother in law; this time was with my other brother and sister in law. Each of us has been absolutely enchanted with the imaginative, attention to detail and historical knowledge of Hobbiton history. We feel very proud as New Zealanders to have this showcase available and visited by so many international tourists. Thank you Sir Peter and the farm owner🤗🤗

Excellent guide, very informative . It was well organised and ran smoothly due to clear instructions. We were very impressed with how well tended the grounds and gardens were The stop on the way back to the ship for a meal was excellent

It was great tour and glad it was made permanently for the tourists to experience. Must visit place and the staffs are also very experienced and knowledgeable about the place and movies too.

Our driver David was incredibly knowledgeable and eager to share his knowledge of New Zealand and the Auckland area while he drove us. Our guide at Hobbiton, Gabby, was great, full of energy, humor and very patient with our group who had different levels of fitness and capability. Would recommend as a fun putting, regardless of how much you know about hobbits.

We were watching the Hobbit tour and we had James as our guide. It went very well: first we had the bus then the visit and finally the tavern with the drink open. We were immediately caught up in the Place ! The guide had a lot of anecdotes to tell us which was very interesting, he was able to take a lot of pictures of us. He can joke with us or talk with words from our native language. The most interesting parts were at the shooting level As well as the tavern after passing the houses.

Everything - but the new walk in hobbit houses are amazing!! So exciting to visit !! LOVED it - will be back (3rd time)

This iconic set, built on a 1250-acre working farm near Matamata, is where The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit trilogies were filmed. Your guide will share behind-the-scenes stories and point out the intricate details that brought Tolkien’s world to life.

Alcohol, drugs, and any form of intoxication are strictly prohibited on the premises.

Large bags, suitcases, and oversized luggage are not allowed on the tour.

Outside food and beverages are not permitted unless specified in your ticket type.

Smoking is not allowed anywhere on the movie set.

The Hobbiton™ Movie Set Tour is not fully wheelchair accessible due to uneven outdoor terrain and gravel paths.

Guests with limited mobility may find some areas difficult to access.
