This was one of the best tours we've taken. We would recommend Pedro, our guide, to everyone! He is experienced, engaging, knowledgeable, friendly and funny! The tour was an excellent balance of beautiful scenery, interesting history, delicious wine and food, and a quiet "drift" along the river. This private tour was well worth the price! Raphael at Quinta Santa Julia gave us a thorough history of the centuries-old vineyard and served us one of the most delicious meals we had in Portugal overlooking the vines! His knowledge of the wines and port is outstanding! Can't recommend this tour enough!

We had an amazing experience on this private Douro Valley wine tour. Our guide was outstanding, friendly, and very knowledgeable, making us feel welcome throughout the day. The wineries were fascinating, the wines were excellent, and the itinerary was perfectly planned from start to finish. Myself, along with five friends had a private tour of the door Valley. Our guide and driver Nuno spoke excellent English, had a good sense of humour and was extremely knowledgeable about the history of the various places we visited, the vineyards and Portuguese, wine and port in general. The Mercedes minibus was clean and cool and the audio system meant we could hear Nuno easily. The place we stopped for lunch, had amazing, panoramic views, was modern clean and served superb local food and wines. The boat trip at Pinhão was just long enough, and we had an enthusiastic and bubbly guide on the boat. We then visited a local & traditional wine and port, maker, and again, the enthusiasm and knowledge of the winery guide was excellent and inspiring. A thoroughly good day and have no hesitation in recommending if you are travelling as a small group.
