I really enjoyed visiting Dolmabahçe Palace because it feels completely different from the other historical sites in Istanbul. The combination of Ottoman history and European-inspired architecture makes the palace incredibly impressive. I especially enjoyed seeing the grand halls, enormous chandeliers, detailed decorations, and the views of the Bosphorus. Walking through the palace gave me a much better sense of how the Ottoman court lived during its later years, and seeing all of these details in person made the visit feel much more meaningful than simply reading about its history.

Interesting historical place, exterior and interiors are fascinating. A little crowded, which is absolutely normal for such place. I strongly recommend to visit this palace with 'skip-the-line' tickets from Headout :)

Бронировали посещение музея. Процесс бронирования прошел быстро, но потом возникли проблемы из за того что в присланном подтверждении не отображался q-код и мы не смогли пройти во дворец. Решали вопрос через сервисный центр дворца. Все прошло хорошо, но конечно требуется знание языка чтоб объяснить проблему

1500 hrs/July 2026. Easy entry and no lines. Hot, stuffy and crowded inside the palace. Many interesting items, fine art and furnishings. My advice is to go early in order to see everything. We went too late in the day and missed some parts we would have liked to have seen. Our fault. The palace and grounds are beautiful. Definitely recommend!

Dolmabahçe Palace

Even with skip-the-line tickets, a security screening is required for all guests. During the summer peak (June to August), waits may be up to 30 minutes.

Your ticket will be emailed the day before your visit. For last-minute bookings, it will be sent right after purchase—check your inbox and spam folder.

Entry is allowed until 4pm for pre-booked guests.

For fewer crowds, visit on a weekday and aim to arrive close to the 9am opening.

Touring the Selamlık, Harem, and gardens usually takes 1 to 2 hours. Allow extra time if you plan to explore nearby museums or relax in the café.

Enjoy light refreshments at the palace café overlooking the Bosphorus, and check out the gift shop for souvenirs.

Hagia Sophia

Skip-the-line tickets help avoid entrance queues, but all visitors must clear a security check.

Security checks can take time. Keep 30 to 40 minutes on hand for possible delays, especially during midday or after the prayer hours.

Tourist access is restricted during daily prayers, and the mosque is closed to non-worshippers on Fridays from 12pm to 2:30pm.

Renovation work is ongoing, and some parts of the site may be closed to visitors.
