What to expect

Before the souks, the Creek: your guide explains how this 14km inlet was Dubai's entire economic engine for two centuries — pearls, spices, and gold moving in and out of the same wooden dock systems that still exist today. The Abra crossing takes about five minutes. On one bank, the old warehouses and wind-tower houses of Bastakiya; on the other, the gold-lit corridors of the Deira souk district.

Visit the bustling Spice Souk and Gold Souk, where you can indulge in some shopping and experience the local culture.

Enjoy a traditional abra ride across Dubai Creek, offering a unique view of the city's skyline.

Conclude your tour with breathtaking views of the Burj Khalifa, the world's tallest building.

What to bring

Wear comfortable closed-toe walking shoes — souk alleyways are uneven paved stone.

Modest dress is appreciated in the old city area; covering shoulders and knees is recommended.
