We were at Cité du Vin all day — from 10:30 to 5:00. The films were great. The exhibits were informative. And the addition of a winetasting at a reasonable price turned out to be a highlight in a room with 360 degree films. Lots of fun, highly informative, recommended to wine lovers and novices alike.

Entry was smooth organised and simple. We enjoyed the wine themed furniture the audio guide and the opportunity to sit and watch multiple video sessions. The aroma area was particularly interesting. A great glass of wine was had at the top with views over the city. Nice wine shop on site and a souvenir store. All in all a comprehensive experience - would recommend it to anyone visiting bordeaux

The Bordeaux river cruise along the Garonne River is a relaxing way to see the city from a different angle, with nice views of landmarks like Place de la Bourse and its reflection on the water. The commentary is informative but can feel a bit basic at times. Overall, it’s a pleasant, easy-going experience—worth it for first-time visitors, especially in good weather.

Very surprising immersive experience of wine culture around the world and in France. The tour is carefully designed with a brilliant way to use storytelling at its highest and purest form. Follow your own path to discover or rediscover this intricate culture that is all about wine. A real pleasure to have been there. A true immersive experience that doesn't feel pushed. We were there on a Friday, just before noon. We asked for bracelets to go eat something in the Halles, across the street, and came back to finish the self-guided tour. A really cool experience that I would recommend to anyone passing by this beautiful city.

I discovered a lot of information on wine making. Most of which was very interesting and new to me. However at times I felt some exhibits to duplicate the information and therefore more time was spent than necessary and at times felt like a bit of an overload. The wine tasting involved choosing one wine and being served a small measure of it.

Tasting at the Belvedere

Wrap up your self-guided tour at the Belvedere, located on the 8th floor, 35 meters above ground. From here, take in a 360° panoramic view of Bordeaux and its surroundings. After soaking in the stunning vistas, indulge in local specialties from Bordeaux and beyond, as you reflect on the rich knowledge and cultural insights you’ve gained during your visit.

This experience is suitable for wheelchair users and pram/stroller users.

The entire building is accessible to guests with reduced mobility, visual and hearing impairments, and intellectual disabilities.

Guide dogs are allowed.

This experience may include tasting sessions of regional blends. Availability is subject to age restrictions and local laws. Please carry valid ID and drink responsibly.

Operating Hours

It's advised to preferably visit the museum in the morning to make the most of your visit. This self-guided tour takes approximately 1 to 3 hours to complete.

Visitors can have real-time access to the occupancy rate of the Permanent Exhibition on the Affluences website or through the Affluences application, which can be downloaded for free on the Apple Store or Google Play. This application will also provide you with the predicted occupancy rate for the upcoming hours.

Closes on 24 Dec at 4pm and closed for visits on 25 Dec.
